Joseph O'Neill who was so seriously injured at the Mulcahy mine about two weeks ago passed away Tuesday of last week. His injury was due to the falling of a rock which struck him on the head just as he went down to work one evening. He was immediately brought to a hospital in this city where everything was done to make him as comfortable as possible. He seemed at times to rally until a week ago Friday when he suddenly took a change for the worse and gradually grew weaker until he passed away.
The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe O'Neil of Seymour, where he was born and raised and was 28 years of age at the time of his death. He was united in marriage with Miss Loretta Cherry who with two small children survive him. The Funeral services were held at Saint Matthews Catholic Church last Thursday morning and the remains laid away in the new cemetery.
Besides his immediate family he is mourned by his parents, four sisters viz; Nellie, Elizabeth, Viola and Mrs. Elmer Curran, and Dr. Will of Darlington and Frank near home.
