Peter J. Perkins, 66 West Brookfield - Peter J. Perkins, 66, of West Brookfield, died at home on Friday, July 6, 2012 after a long illness.
Peter was born in Holden, the son of Charles and Corinne (Royer) Perkins. He was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Linda (Nydam) Perkins, two daughters, Monica and her husband Thomas Decell of Brookfield, and Corinne and her husband Edward Barnes of Worcester, a son, Robert C. Perkins of Worcester, granddaughters Brittany and Kirsten Decell of Brookfield and Gabrielle and Hope Perkins of Worcester, and a brother, William Perkins and his wife Nancy of Holden. He was predeceased by a son William, a brother Charles and sisters Lois Brunell and Marilyn Harris. He also leaves his faithful dog Colby and beloved driving horse Shady. Peter was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving on the USS Wasp. Prior to his retirement, Peter had been a security guard and before that, he did metal finishing. A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 12 at 11 a.m. at the Brookfield Congregational Church, 8 Common St., Brookfield. The burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
