Betty Jean Ray, 65, of Bowling Green, Kentucky, passed away July 5, 2012, at the Medical Center at Bowling Green.

She was born on January 16, 1947, in Pollard, Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Elmer Rodery; mother, Mary Ella Rodery Wallace; stepfather, Clyde Wallace; and half sister, Peggy Ziegler.

She is survived by her husband, Melvin Ray of Bowling Green, Kentucky; son, Franklin Ray of La Vergne, Tennessee; daughter, Lisa Ray of Smiths Grove, Kentucky; granddaughter, Lindsey Ray Cowles of Smiths Grove, Kentucky; brother, Wesley Rodery and wife June of Southgate, Michigan; sister, Anna Lou McGee and husband Terry of Springdale, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Owen Little officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Wade Jones, Luke Davidson, Terry Etherton, Tim Elliott, Dusty Etherton, and Chuck Shepard. Honorary pallbearers are Glen Ray and Kyle Davidson. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation begins Saturday at 11:00 a.m. until service time.
