May 19, 1902, Waco Times Herald:

ED JACKSON DEAD.
"Ed Jackson, who is well known in this city, dropped dead at his boarding place, No. 1626 South Eleventh Street, yesterday afternoon about 4 o'clock. He had just arisen from the table and as he started across the floor he fell dead. A physician was telephoned for immediately, but when he arrived he found that it was useless for him to do anything as Mr. Jackson was already too far gone and his heart was then beating at long intervals. The sudden death was caused from heart troubles and Mr Jackson had been frequently bothered with his heart before. He had been well all day yesterday and had chatted with friends that he had met.

The deceased was an attorney and was well known in this city. He has lived here a number of years and his kindly spirit was know to all. Mr. Jackson was admitted to the bar about two years ago and was enjoying a fair practice for a young attorney. He was well known over the state and has many friends.

His remains were taken in charge by Fall and Puckett and removed to their parlors where they are at present. The funeral will not be arranged until some of his relatives in Bell County are heard from."
