Mary L. Chenier, 95, a longtime resident of Saranac Lake, died Wednesday, November 25, at the Castle Rest Nursing Home in Syracuse. She was born July 6,1892, in Ware, Mass., the daughter of Dennis and Phoebe (Kelly) Miner Sr. She was married to William Chenier, who predeceased her. As a resident of Saranac Lake, Mrs. Chenier lived on Lake Flower Avenue and Edwards Street. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters Court of St. Bernard, the Loyal Order of the Moose and the Altar-Rosary Society. Survivors include a sister, Ellen Haibt of Syracuse; three nieces,. Ethel Williams of Tupper Lake, Viola LaTray of Star Lake, and Edna Stanek of Niagara Falls; and several great-nieces and nephews. Calling hours were scheduled to take place from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Keough and Son Funeral Home. The Catholic Daughters will conduct a Bible vigil at 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard's Church. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery in May.
