Mr. Jerry Wayne Bratton, 53, of Mooresboro, died Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at his residence.


Jerry was born on December 20,1954. A native of Rutherford County he was a son or the late Robert Weldon and Imogene Scruggs Bratton of Rutherfordton. He was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, a musician, and dog lover.


Besides his mother he is survived by one daughter Heather Bratton & Brandon Hoffman, his daughters mother Teresa Hamrick , Granddaughter Isabella Hoffman, two brothers Robbie Bratton and wife Rita of Ruthefordton, Terry Bratton and Suzanne Royster of Waco, NC; one sister Nancy Flowers and husband Charles of Hickory; nieces and nephews, David Flowers, Carla Flowers, Katie Flowers and his five Chihuahuas.


Funeral services will be held at 6:30 P.M. on Friday, March 14, 2008 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. Darrell Revels and Rev. Bobby Gettys officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 15, 2008 at State Line Baptist Church. Visitation will be held after the service in the fellowship building of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church.


Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2200 Lake Blvd., Atlanta, Georgia 30319 or the Rutherford County Humane Society, 531 Railroad Ave., Rutherfordton, NC 28139


The family will be at 1224 Mount Pleasant Church Road, Mooresboro.
