DELBERT GRIZZLE
1919 - 2012

Delbert H. Grizzle, 93, of Flatwoods passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashland.

He was born January 16, 1919, in Flatwoods, Kentucky to the late Luther and Minnie Moore-Grizzle.

Mr. Grizzle was retired as a Brakeman with C&O Railroad. He served his country honorably in the United Sates Navy during World War II. Delbert also attended the Shawnee Church of God in Flatwoods, he also held the state record for largemouth bass in 1965 and 1966 at Greenbo Lake where the pier was named in his honor.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy L. Willis-Grizzle in 1998, and granddaughter Melissa Killin in 2007, as well as his siblings.

He leaves behind three daughters, Judith Riffe of Flatwoods, KY., Betty White of Tumbridge, VT., and Pam Nonam of Athens, OH., one brother, Ken Grizzle of Florida, one sister, Pauline Williams of Greenup, KY., seven grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren.

There will be a graveside service at Bellefonte Memorial Gardens in Flatwoods on Friday, July 13, 2012, at 1 P.M. with Pastor Henry Montgomery officiating. Military Honors will be conducted at the Graveside by the VFW Post 8850 of Ironton Ohio.

There will be no visitation.
