PELZER – Emma Olivia Looper Bryant, 97, of 223 Looper Road, widow of Herman Lee Bryant, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at NHC Healthcare of Anderson. Born in Pelzer, she was a daughter of the late Marshall A. and Sara Elizabeth Richardson Looper. She was a homemaker and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in Pelzer.

Surviving are son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Bill and Linda Bryant, of Pelzer; daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Fred Chapman, of Clinton; brother, Tommy Looper, of Belton; sister, Betty Addison, of Pelzer; daughter-in-law, Linda Chapman Bryant, of Pelzer; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

She was predeceased by two sons, Donald and Robert Bryant; three brothers, Randy, Glen and Paul Looper; and three sisters, Martha Whitten, Frances Segers and Ruth Holliday. Visitation will be 12:30-2 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012, at Gray Mortuary, Pelzer.

Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Robert Parris, the Rev. Bill Bryant and Dr. Michael Bryant officiating. Burial will be at the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Family members are at their respective homes. Memorials may be made to the New Hope Baptist Church Senior Citizens Fund, 108 New Hope Road, Pelzer, SC 29669.
