Joe Gilman Asher, age 68 of Boerne, TX went to be with the Lord Monday, January 26, 2009. He was born May 21, 1940, in San Antonio TX, the Son of Robert Asher & Susie Wilson Asher. He was a home builder in the Hill Country area for 38 years Dad loved his family more than anything, and enjoyed stock showing, BBQ's, gardening, and his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed but we know that he is celebrating with his loved ones that preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Anita of 40 years; children: Joey and wife Julie, Scott and wife Debbie, Rusty and wife Amanda, Candy and husband Joe Patterson, Jake and wife Kristine, Karlea and husband Justin Shippey, "Poppa" to his 16 Grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Dennis Asher, Wade Asher, Ronnie Gombert, Bobby Gombert, Johnny Hay, and Jason Lewis.A visitation will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 9:00 am at Vaughan's Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, January 29, 2009 at 10:00 am at Vaughan's Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Boerne Cemetery
