Nellie Christina Dunlap Larson Ellis was born Christmas day, 1914 to James T. and Sarah Dunlap in Seligman, Missouri. She went to be with her savior March 30, 2015.
She graduated from Seligman High School in 1932 where she loved playing basketball. This started her love for Lady Bear games.
She attended Draughon Business College in Springfield, which prepared her for a job at Turner Department Store as secretary and machine bookkeeper.
Nellie married Carl C. Larson, Jr. in 1937. She was a stay- at-home mother until her sons were in their teens. She worked at Grant Avenue Baptist Church as secretary before going to Mercantile Bank. Grant Avenue was her church home from 1947 until her death. She enjoyed visiting for the hometown department.
Nellie was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years, Carl C. Larson, and her husband of 26 years, Clifford T. Ellis; a son, Eric D. Larson and an infant daughter, Ann C. Larson.
She is survived by one son, Jim and wife Alma; a daughter-in-law, Sarah; four grandchildren, Susan Fraser and Cal, Don Larson and Melanie, Mark Larson and Angie, Brett Larson and Jana; Sarah's daughter, Jennifer and son, Philip. Nellie also leaves 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Burial in Eastlawn Cemetery.
