Mary Spencer Bright, age 89 of Alvin, Texas passed away Friday in Houston, Texas. Mary was born in Fayetteville, Tennessee and was a resident of Alvin for three years, formerly of Huntsville, Alabama for 86 years. She worked as a book keeper and was a member of the Mayfair Church of Christ in Huntsville, Alabama. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Ada and Frank Spencer, sons, Burtice and Douglas Bright, brothers, Richard, Donald, Morris, and Frank Spencer and granddaughter, Courtney Garcia.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Brenda Smith and husband, Thomas, three grandchildren, Natasha Wood and husband Pat, Mackenzie Garcia, Mary Rebecca Garza and husband John, eight great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
