Jennie McKenzie Stark.

After a lingering illness and a
brave struggle for life, Mrs. Jennie
McKenzie Stark joined "the silent ma-
jority" at the home of her sister, Mrs.
R. C. Dunn, in this village shortly
after noon on the 28th ult.
She had been ailing for some months
at her home in Carlyle, Mont., and
about five weeks ago returned to the
scenes of her childhood in
Spencer Brook in the hope that the change
might improve her condition. A week
or so later she was brought to Prince-
ton, where she could have skillful and
constant medical treatment. Her
heart was badly affected, and compli-
cations that ensued therefrom caused
the doctor to have but faint hopes of
her recovery. Despite the most
assiduous care, careful nursing and
unremitting medical attention she gradu-
ally grew weaker until the end came
as above related.

On Sunday afternoon, after a brief
prayer at the Dunn residence, the re-
mains were conveyed to the house
where she was born, the home of her
brother, James McKenzie, in Spencer
Brook, where the funeral services were
held. Here a choir, under the direction of
Mrs. Wellington King, rendered a
couple of beautiful hymns, and a solo
by the evangelist, Rev. Eric A. Fern-
lund, was exceedingly appropriate and
impressive. A brief but feeling ad-
dress was delivered by Rev. James A.
Geer of the Princeton M. E. church.
The interment was in the Clough bury-
ing ground. And now all that is mor-
tal of the once bright and winsome
Jennie McKenzie reposes alongside the
graves of her father and mother, there
to await the resurrection morn.

Jennie McKenzie was the daughter
of the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Mc-
Kenzie, and was born August 9, 1870.
She was married to Wm. Stark in 1895.
He died in Montana two years ago.

She is survived by eight children—
Ralph, Benjamin, Hugh, Thomas, Ed-
ward, Lucy, Lydia and Jeanette—all
of whom were present at the funeral;
by a brother, James McKenzie, and
two sisters, Mrs. R. C. Dunn and Mrs.
Chas. Babb.

Mrs. Stark had resided in Spencer
Brook all her life until four years ago
when she went to Montana with her

As a girl Jennie McKenzie was a general
favorite, beloved by all her friends
and acquaintances. She was a devoted
wife and mother. Her children fairly
worshiped her. Sadly, indeed, will
they miss her.
