This is my 2nd Great Grandfather. A short period before my own father Arnold W Fields died ( he wasn't into family genealogy at all) he did tell me of when he was younger how his father George Edward W Fields had told him- that he remembered sitting with his Grandfather James Fields and hearing stories of the war. I never really knew my Grandfather G Edward Fields- he died when I was 5. I wish I had gotten the chance to ask him to repeat any of the stories he remembered .
