A Funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church for Bernado "Ben" Accurso, 81, who passed away on August 18, 2004. Interment followed at Calvary Hill Cemetery.

Ben was born in the Smetana Community of Bryan, Texas. He married his wife, Jean, in 1983 and became a loving father to her three daughters.

He served in WWII as a radio operator in the 42nd Bomb Squadron of the 11th Bombardment group in the 7th Air Force. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross and the Air Medal with 5 Oak Leaf Clusters.

He was a member of St. Bernard of Clairvaux Catholic Church, The Leisure Club, Audie Murphy VFW Post, MOC Lucky 37 and the Paternal Order of the Eagles.

Ben was survived by wife Jean, three daughters, two granddaughters, two great-grandchildren, two sisters, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
