DEATH IS UNEXPECTED

Three Weeks' Illness From Cardiac Asthma (I think this must mean heart failure with pulmonary edema causing coughing) Ends At 5 P. M. Friday
Funeral Services for Mr.s Anna (Senger) Roetgerman, aged 81, lifelong and highly-respected resident of Minster community who died suddenly at 5 p.m. last Friday at her home near here, were held Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Augustine's church.
Mrs. Roetgerman, whose death was entirely unexpected, had been ailing for three weeks and was bedfast two weeks, suffering from cardiac asthma. Her condition was not thought to be critical, however.
Born here as Anna Senger on August 15, 1857, she grew to womanhood in Minster and on June 18, 1873 was married in St. Augustine's church to Herman Roetgerman. After their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Roetgerman established their home on a farm two miles northwest of Minster, where they spent the remainder of their lives. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary in 1923, and ten years later Mr. Roegerman passed away.
Seven children were born to Mr. And Mrs. Roetgerman, six of whom, four daughters and two sons, survive. They are: Miss Bernadine, Bernard and Frank, living on the home place; Mrs. John Fortman, Minster; Mrs. Henry (Mary) Albers, Maria Stein; and Mrs. Henry Otte, Montezuma. A son Joseph preceded his parents in death. Sixteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren are living.
Two brothers, Ben Senger of Hamilton Ohio, and Frank Senger of Dickinson, Texas, are left.
Anna's brother, Joseph Senger and her parents Franz Senger and Catherine Fielhaber (or Vielhaber) Senger preceded her in death. There were possibly other siblings.
Mrs. Roetgerman was a faithful member of St. Augustine Catholic Church parish, and was a member of the St. Monica Ladies' sodality. She was a kind and dutiful wife and mother.
Rev. Vitus Schuette had charge of the services Tuesday. Pallbearers were Robert Bensman, Albert Bensman, William Bensman, Ben Boecker, Clarence Weubker and Ben Hackemoeller. Burial was made in the St. Augustine cemetery.
