Mr Gardner died when the private plane he was piloting crashed upon landing at Broome County Airport, Binghamton, NY.
He was the only son of Albert D Gardner and Mary Jane Borland Gardner. His mother and father preceeded him in death. He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Ruth T Gardner, Binghamton, two sons, Arnold D Gardner, Vestal, John M Gardner, Binghamton, a grandson, Hugh I Gardner, and several nieces and nephews, among them James A Borland of Syracuse, NY a television news reporter for WSYR Channel 3. Mr Gardner was a well respected businessman, owning several business ventures. He was founder and President of Gardner Motors, Valley Motors, Inc., Gardner Enterprises, Inc., and George D Gardner, Inc.
