Olive Loraine Edson, age 89, passed away June 24, 2012, in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

Olive Bakker was born September 5, 1922, in Muskegon, Michigan, the daughter of William Bakker and Nina (Dikeman) Bakker. Raised in Muskegon she later was a resident of Whitehall for over 37 years, where she was a former member of the Whitehall Congregational Church, and was active with the Eastern Star and White Lake Eagles. The past 6 years she has been a resident of Kalamazoo and currently a member of the Oshtemo United Methodist Church. Olive had a lifetime loving commitment to her family and friends. She also loved sewing, reading, sports, music and playing bingo.

On July 19, 1940, she was united in marriage to Edward "Jerry" Edson, who preceded her in death on April 12, 1971. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Louise Arnold.

Surviving Olive L. Edson were five children, Barbara (Jim) Turcott of Kalamazoo, MI, Christine Baker of Washington, MI, David (Chris) Edson of Schaumburg, IL, Edith (Dan) Moore of Simpsonville, SC and Carol Sue (Don) Peterson of Concord, NC; ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
