Angeline Skorich, 92, Angeline Skorich, 91, rural Grand Rapids, died Saturday, Oct. 21, 2006 in St. Luke's Hospital, Jacksonville, Fla.
Born June 29, 1915 in Minneapolis, she was the daughter of George and Mary (Ivancevich) Njegovan. Angie grew up in Calumet, and had lived in White City and Marble prior to moving to the Midway area of Grand Rapids in 1953. Angie and Rody Skorich were married in April of 1948. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Vassilije Serbian Orthodox Church of Chisholm.
Her parents, George and Mary Njegovan, her husband Rody in 1997, brothers Thomas, Nick, Mike, Sam, and Dan Njegovan and sisters, Zora and Sophie Njegovan and Mary Jane Reiss preceded her in death.
Survivors include her children, Steven Skorich, Jeffrie (partner Valerie) Skorich, and Suzanne (partner Enrique) Skorich, all of Minneapolis, and Mark (Linda) Skorich of Sterling, Va.; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert (Rita) Njegovan of Bremerton, Wash.; a sister, Helen (Bob) Basarich of Portland, Ore.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Njegovan of Grand Rapids, and a brother-in-law, Don Reiss of Woodbury.
Services: Visitation will be 10:30 a.m. until the 11:30 a.m. funeral service on Friday, Oct. 27 in the Peterson Funeral Chapel of Coleraine. Interment will be in the Lakeview Cemetery, Coleraine.
Memorials to the American Diabetes Association are preferred.
