MAE BRUNS, 84, Webster City, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2002 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tues., at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Schmidt to officiate. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church one hour before the service.
Mae Evelyn Bahrenfuss, daughter of Buryl and Elva Doolittle Bahrenfuss, was born April 30, 1918 on a farm northeast of Webster City. She attended Blairsburg #4 rural school and Webster City High School. She provided child care for area families. On January 23, 1938 she married Elmer Theodore Bruns at the Bahrenfuss farm. The couple resided at Kamrar, then farmed in the Blairsburg-Webster City area for many years. They moved to Webster City and worked for A & W Drive-In. Mr. Bruns died May 30, 1973. She had resided at Crestview Manor for the past 6 years.
Mrs. Bruns is survived by brothers, Keith and Lee Bahrenfuss; sister Jean Roe, all of Webster City; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband , she was preceded death by her parents; sisters, Lelia Roe, Shirley Mourlam and Eleanor Schroeder; brother, Robert Bahrenfuss.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Bible Study and Circles. She was a former member of the A.Y.N., and Mulberry Helphing Hands.
