Frank Xavier Kort was born in Kentucky in 1870. His parents were Jacob and Christine Faurkis Kort. Sometime before 1885, the family moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. Frank was a teenager at the time. On September 13, 1897, Frank married Anna Faustgen in Minneapolis. Anna was born in Oshkosh, Wisconsin on September 24, 1877. Her parents were Peter and Annie Tholl Faustgen. Frank was working as a teamster, and they lived on Broadway NE. In 1903, Frank and Anna had their only child, Marie. Frank continued working as a teamster until 1908, when he was hired by the Minneapolis Police Department.

Frank was a Minneapolis police officer until he retired in 1928. By that time, the family had moved onto Ulysses St. NE., and Frank had put on 20 years with the department. After he retired, Frank was hired by one of the railroads that ran through Minneapolis, as railroad security. He stayed with that job until 1937, when he retired for good.

Frank and Anna lived at 2806 Ulysses until Frank died on January 2, 1948, in Minneapolis. Anna lived until December 1, 1966. They are both buried at Saint Anthony Cemetery in Northeast Minneapolis.
