Mary Dianne Simmons Addison, 68, of Christiansburg, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. Dianne was preceded in death by husband Claude Addison; son Scott Dowdy; daughter Cindy; granddaughter Patricia Dowdy; mother and father Mary and Tony Simmons; sister Doris Altizer; and brother Norman Simmons. Remaining to cherish her memories are her daughter, Doris Ann King; sons, Robbie Dowdy, Mike Dowdy and Tony Reed; stepsons, Robby Addison, Steve Addison and Jeff Addison; sisters, Anna and husband, Phil Saunder,s of Christiansburg, Irene Simmons, of Riner; brother James H. Simmons and wife, Betty, of Christiansburg; brother-in-law, Sid Altizer; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Frances Coberly for the care of Dianne.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, from 12 to 2 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home, with the funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. in the Chapel. The Rev. Don Peters will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. Arrangements by Horne Funeral Service.
