LEONARD JOHN ALLEN
December 1, 1948 - July 3, 2012

Leonard John Allen passed away on Tuesday morning, July 3, 2012, following a brief battle with leukemia.

Born in Toledo, Ohio on December 1, 1948, Leonard was raised in Detroit, Michigan and relocated to the Los Angeles area in 1971, where he built a full and joyful life.

He was a decorated veteran of the United States Marine Corps, and served his country honorably in the Vietnam War.

Leonard is survived by his large, tremendously loving family: wife, Christine; mother, Mildred (Sewick); sister, Bea and brother-in-law, Ted (Allebone); brother, Larry; sister, Sandy; daughter, Dolores "Lola" (Romero); sons, Wayne and Brian; grandchildren, Fernando "Junior" (Allen), and Anthony, Mariah, and Desarae (Romero); great grandchildren, Izaiah (Allen) and Nathan (Romero); niece, Shawna (Robertson); nephews Ed (Davey) and Mark; Godchildren, Priscilla (Flores), Andrew, Gregory, and Justin (Zamora), and Robert (Martinez); and an abundant, loving extended family.

A celebration of Leonard's life will take place at noon, on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at the First Assembly of God in Arleta.
