Dr. W. W. Parker, Jr., son of the late Dr. W. W. Parker, died last night at 10 o'clock at the Virginia Hospital. His death was due to typhoid fever, with which he had been ill for the last four weeks. When taken ill he was in Wise county, where, since leaving Richmond in October, he had held the position of surgeon for the Coeburn Coal Mines. He came to Richmond three weeks ago, and was taken at once to the hospital, where for the first two weeks of his illness he improved and was thought almost out of danger at one time. A week ago he suffered a relapse, with which complication arose, causing grave apprehensions.
Dr. Parker was twenty-three years of age, and only last year was graduated from the University College of Medicine. For several month he served on the city ambulance, and in this way became widely known throughout the city.
Of his immediate family who survive him are his mother, Mrs. W. W. Parker, Mrs. John H. Pleasants, Mrs. J. W. Henson, of this city, and Mrs. Marion L. Lambert, of St. Louis. His brothers are Messrs. Stafford H., a twin brother, and Charles J. Parker. All were at his bedside when the end came, with the exception of Mrs. Lambert, who is ill in St. Louis.
The funeral will take place this afternoon at 4 o'clock from Broad Street Methodist Church. Interment will be made in Hollywood.
