After graduating from Paris HS, Mr. Abshire, Bullet, as he was fondly called enlisted in the Navy and retired as a commander. He attended Texas Christian University where he received a bachelor of science degree. He married Wanda Faye James in 1950. He was a successful businessman as an independent insurance agent for 55 years. Bullet was always jovial, full of life, and in general, a character. He was predeceased by his wife, Wanda.
Survivors are: Son, Randy Abshire; daughter, Patricia Lianne Abshire; brothers, Ralph, Jack and Robert Abshire; sister, Marie Strickland; and several nieces and nephews.
