Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Dunaway Thornhill, mother of Cleve Thornhill, Columbia businessman, who died suddenly at her home in Foxworth Friday,were held Saturday from the Holly Springs Baptist Church. The Rev. F. K. Horton and the Rev.C.J.Meredith officiated.
Burial was in the Holly Springs cemetery.
Mrs. Thornhill was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Dunaway, (sic) pioneer resident of this section. She had spent her entire life in this county where she had a host of relatives and friends who mourn her death.
Since 1926 she has lived with her son Cleve in Foxworth.
Although she had been in bad health for a number of months, her death came as a surpise. Her husband died several years ago.
Survivors include six daughters, Mrs. J. J. Surmall. Mrs. Ed Powell, Mrs. Fred Powell, Mrs. A. S. Dunaway, Mrs. Eugene Boone, all of the Foxworth community and Mrs. A. C. Bush of Bogalusa, La; four sons, Eaco, A.M., Clarence and Cleve Thornhill, all of Foxworth.
Pall bearers were her grandsons; Alfred Bush,Jr, Clad Powell, Earl Thornhill. Johnny Sumrall and Harland Boone.
Walden Funeral Home had charge of the arrangements.
