Ruby Frances Bailey

March 13, 1922 ~ June 30, 2012

Ruby Frances Bailey, a lifelong resident of the Wenatchee Valley, was born on March 13, 1922, and passed away on June 30, 2012. Her parents were William R. and Elizabeth (Pace) Patrick and she was raised and attended schools in the Wenatchee area. Ruby married Harold Bailey in Wenatchee in November, 1940. They had three children, Jack, Joanne and Dennis, who grew up in Cashmere. After Harold left the Army following WWII, they started their first business with the meat market in Bud Curtis' Cashmere Market. They then bought the Monitor Market in 1953, and operated it for many years. Their last business venture was a partnership in a cherry orchard in Wenatchee with Leonard Sexton. After Harold passed away in 1985, Ruby continued assisting in the upbringing of their granddaughters, Dominique and Taya. Ruby's pastimes included making ceramics, collecting spoons from various locations and working in her yard. She was a marvelous cook and she made the best divinity candy in the Valley.

Survivors include her daughter, Joanne Hampton of Yakima; son, Dennis (Laura) Bailey of Cashmere; daughter-in-law, Linda (Jack) Bailey of East Wenatchee; grandchildren, Dominique Hampton of Gig Harbor, Taya (Mark) Eaton of Yakima and Brian (Danielle) Bailey of East Wenatchee; great-grandchildren, Henry and Nate Eaton, Conner and Isabella Rosenberger and Kenzie Bailey; sisters, Betty (Bob) Fries of East Wenatchee, Shirley Woods of Everett and Gail (Bob) Brim of Tennessee; and brother, Mike (Barbara) Patrick of Everett. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; son, Jack; brother, Bill Patrick; and sisters, Mildred Porterfield and Vivian Loken.

Private Family Interment will be held at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in East Wenatchee. At Ruby's request, No Services will be held. Ward's Funeral Chapel, Leavenworth, is in charge of the arrangements.
