Birth: in Scott county, Kentucky.
Year following her marriage, hubby (7th born of twelve), along with five of eight brothers went off to the War of 1812, returning home afterwards, brother Richard Mentor was a one term vice=president under first American born president, Martin Van Buren and Benjamin to Arkansas when appointed one of three Superior Court Judges for Arkansas Territory in 1821 by our fifth president James Monroe, then again under John Quincy Adams and Andrew Jackson, later serving as United States District Judge for Arkansas from statehood in 1836 until his death in 1849. He was namesake of Johnson County, Arkansas. History has him a part of "The Family"who pretty much controlled Arkansas up to the Civil War, thus reaping many of the financial benefits.

Census: 1860, age 67 Little Rock, Pulaski county, Arkansas widowed worth $150,000 real real estate and $250,000 personal, with son Richard "Dick", his wife Anna Newton and child Allen, following listing of son, James Barnett Johnson & family including Anna Newton's brothers Robert C & Thomas W.
Death: in Pulaski county, Arkansas. Note: two seemingly reliable items claim she is buried next to her hubby, however the cemetery has no such record! Same thing occurred in Evergreen cemetery, Fayetteville, Arkansas, where we have obituary as proof of interment of buried ashes.
