North Augusta, SC—Funeral Services for Mr. William P. Butler, 71, of Mill Run, who entered into rest July 8, 2012, will be conducted Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock from the Posey Funeral Chapel. Rev. Mark Owens and Dr. Gary C. Redding officiating. Interment in Pineview Memorial Park.
Mr. Butler was a native of Prospect, TN, having made North Augusta his home for the past 52 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Augusta, the Caroline Thomas Sunday School Class and was a US Army Veteran. Mr. Butler was the founding owner of Butler Automotive, the former owner/operator of Big H Food Store and for the past 30 years bought and renovated investment properties. He was truly a man of his word with unquestionable character. Mr. Butler was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Dawn Butler, a son-in-law, Russell Coyle, a brother, John M. Butler and a sister Dorothy Greer.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mary Faye Story Butler; a son and daughter-in-law, Eddie and Kim Butler, North Augusta; a daughter, Karen Lee Coyle, Trenton, SC; a brother, Robert A. Butler, Nashville, TN; two sisters, Frances Shannon, Oak Ridge, TN and Jane Bowser, Akron, OH; a sister-in-law, Betty Sue Butler, Palaski, TN; five grandchildren, Brent Lewis, Katie Coyle, Nicholas Butler, Lily Butler and Jack Butler.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the employees of Butler Automotive. Active Pallbearers will be John Greer, Johnny Butler, Mike Butler, Greg Butler, Kyle Phillips, Kenny Newton, Scott Newton, Keith Turner and Bob Bolton.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this Tuesday evening from 6 until 8.
