Mrs. Shellenberger worked for the Dana Corporation in Auburn for 37 years, retiring in 1986. She was an active member of the First Church of Christ in Garrett. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society. She was born May 10, 1923, in Lansing, Michigan. She was first married to Radis A. Vise who was killed in action during World War II on February 3, 1945. She then married Harold H. Shellenberger in Chicago, Ill., on May 1, 1946, and he passed away May 8, 2008.
Surviving are a daughter and son-in-law, Carol E. (Vise Shellenberger) and Timothy J. Shine of Garrett; five grandchildren, Jeffrey J. and Angela Grupp of Rowlett, Texas, Michael S. and Tanya Grupp of Garland, Texas, Linda L. and Ronnie Wells of Houston, Texas, Christopher D. and Tonya Grupp of St. Louis, Michigan, and Bradley S. Grupp of Houston, Texas; eight great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, William Gulick; mother, Treva M. (Rynearson) Vendrell; her husbands; and two brothers, William Gulick Jr. and Richard "Dicky" Gulick.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 12, 2012, at First Church of Christ, 213 E. King St., Garrett, with visitation from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the service at the church. Brother Bud Owen will be officating. Burial will be in Embrey Cemetery in Garrett. Visitation will also be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 S. Center St., Auburn.
