John S. Beintema
John S. Beintema, well known and highly respected resident of West Sayville for the past 30 years died at his home on Montauk Highway about three o'clock: on Tuesday morning. He was a native of Holland where he was born 71 years ago. He came to America about 50 years ago. For some years he lived in Sayville and later in Bayport. He built up an extensive dairy business and also was a contracting road builder and grader on some large enterprises. He was formerly an active member and more recently an associate member of the West Sayville Fire Department, was a consistent member and for years an elder of the First Reformed Church of West Sayville from which the funeral was held at 2:30 o'clock yesterday afternoon, the services being conduced by the Rev. J. H. Joldersma followed by interment In the family plot in the Union Cemetery.
His widow , formerly Miss Tina Mulder, also a native of Holland, and nine children, survive him. They are Sikka J., Edward J., John S., Mrs. William Bakelaar, Mrs. John Van Wyen and Mrs. Clarence Hoek all of West Sayville , Mrs. Jacob Barbanes of Bay Shore, Mrs. Jack Davies of Oakdale, and Mrs. William L. Collins of Sayville.
