Aviator. A Former President of the St. Louis Board of Police Commissioners, he bought a plane from the Wright brothers in 1909 and was taught by Orville Wright how to fly. In 1923, an unknown flyer named Charles A. Lindbergh, landed in a field leased by Lambert. This field later became Lambert-St. Louis International Airport. He was one of Lindbergh's backers on his solo flight across the Atlantic in 1927.
