Mr. Archie Holland Elliott, Knoxville, died Thursday morning, June 5, at Springfield State Hospital, Sykesville, after a lengthy illness. His wife, Mrs. Nona Lee Robbins Elliott, predeceased him in March 1980.

Born in Independence, Va., Feb . 13, 1906, Mr. Elliott was a son of the late Malcum Z. and Margie Belle Sexton Elliott.

Surviving are three sons, James T. Elliott of Knoxville, Joe C. Elliott of Thurmont and Archie LeRoy Elliot of California; one daughter, Mrs. Barbara Jean Ruppett, Charles Town, W. Va.; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Rose Owens, Independence, Va., and Mrs. Ruth Nichols, Knoxville; and two stepsons, Charles Hodge, Harpers Ferry, W. Va., and James P. Hodge, Knoxville; one brother, Clarence Elliott, Independence, Va., four half-brothers, Granville Elliott of Fieldale, Va., Richard Elliott and Kyle Elliott both of Fries, Va., and Bert Elliott, Galax, Va.; one sister, Miss Ruby elliott, Independence, Va., and three half-sisters, Miss Edna Elliott of Independence, Va., Mrs. Florence Goins and Mrs. Juanita Blevins, both of Fries, Va.,; 21 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Smith, Fadeley, Keeney & Basford Funeral Home, 106 E. Church St., Frederick, from 7-9 p.m. Saturday, June 7, and Sunday, June 8. Funeral services will be held from the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 9. The Rev. Gary A. Byers, Fredericktowne Baptist Church will officiate. Interment will be in the Garden of Devotion, Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick.
