Luella J. Pride Clapper, 69, of 7200 Church Hill Road, Zanesville, passed away at 10:53 p.m. Sunday, April 9, 2006, at the home of her daughter Candy Beall of 10450 S. River Road, McConnelsville, after a lengthy illness,

Luella was born May 30, 1936, in Zanesville, to the late Walter and Clara Shipley Pride. Mrs. Clapper was retired from the Longaberger Basket Co., where she worked as a stamper. She was a member of the Duncan Falls Wings of Faith Church and the Zanesville Eagles.

Surviving are four daughters, Cindy and Dave Ferrel of Zanesville, Debbie and Rick O'Neil of Blue Rock, Candy Beall and Merle Edwards of McConnelsville and Betty and Dave Howard of Chandlersville; three sons, Leslie and Teresa Clapper of Zanesville, Gary and Kelly Clapper of Nashport and Randy and Lori Clapper of Crooksville; many grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and sisters, Mildred and Tom Archer of Beckley, W.Va., Rita Smith of Blue Rock, Judy Hanning of Zanesville, Rhonda and Tim Hanning of Zanesville and Clara Marple of Fultonham.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie R. Clapper, who died Feb. 13, 2006; sons, Rocky and Daren Clapper; brothers, Richard, Jackie, Jerry, Walter and Harry Pride; and sisters, Virginia Mae Rowland and Mary K Klass.
Calling hours will begin at 11 a.m. with funeral services at 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 12, 2006, at Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls. The Rev. Joe Rowland will officiate. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery, Zanesville.
