NORTH TAZEWELL, Va. — Lily Margaret Asbury Baker, age 81, of North Tazewell, Va., died, Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Skyline Nursing Home in Floyd, Va. Born Nov. 9, 1930 in McDowell County, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late William Roy Asbury and Lakie Altizer Asbury.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Velt Baker; one daughter, Brenda Sue Bogle; two sons, Daryl Wayne Baker and James (Buck) Baker; two brothers, Hubert Asbury and Ray Asbury; and one sister, Penny Rotenberry.
She is survived by two sons, Randy Baker and wife, Pat of Bell Spring, Va., and Jerry Baker and wife, Ann of Tazewell, Va.; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Earl Asbury and Jimmy Asbury, both of North Tazewell, Va.; five sisters, Rose Day of Hopewell, Va., Shirley Bailey of Martinsville, Va., Trula Newsome of Columbus, Ohio, Wilma Tolley of Horsepen, Va., and Allenne Hicks of North Tazewell, Va.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m., Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home Chapel in Tazewell, Va. with Pastor Arnold Marrs officiating. Burial will follow at Maplewood Cemetery in Tazewell, Va. Relatives and friends will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
