OREGON CITY, Or. Feb 12.- (Special) Mary Elizabeth Stevens, 81, daughter of Medoreum and Adeline Crawford, pioneers of 1842, who was born in Oregon City March 8, 1850, died today at the family home, 603 Sixth street.

With other members of the family Mary Elizabeth Crawford moved to Yamhill county in 1852, living on the old homestead until 1864, when they moved to Portland. In January 1871, she was married to Harley C. Stevens and came to Oregon City, where she has since resided.

She joined the First Congregational church here in September, 1876, and was an active worker in all church activities. For 56 years she was a leader in the Ladies Aid society of which she was a charter member. Mr. Stevens died several years ago.

Mrs. Stevens leaves a son, Harley C. Stevens of Portland, and a daughter, Miss Muriel Stevens of this city. She also leaves two brothers and one sister- J.M. and Etta D. Crawford of Yamhill county and Albert Crawford of Milwaukie.

Funeral services will be held Sunday at 2 P.M. at the First Congregational church; Dr. E.P. Borden, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Mt. View Cemetery.
