Elizabeth Bosilevac, 92, passed away Mon., July 2, 2012, at Shawnee Mission Medical Center. The Funeral Mass will be 11 a.m. Tues., July 10, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 708 N. 4th St., KC, KS 66101, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Burial in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. The family would appreciate donations in Elizabeth's memory to the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Restoration Fund. Elizabeth was born in Kansas City, KS, on July 24, 1919, to Michael and Barbara (Vrbetic) Bosiljevac. She attended Wyandotte High School and the University of Kansas. Beth, as she was affectionately known to her family and friends, had a variety of jobs in the medical field, including the University of Kansas Medical Center and General Hospital. She was employed for over twenty years at Bethany Medical Center and served as its medical services staff coordinator until her retirement in 1992. During her professional career, she was a member of Zonta International and the National Association of Medical Staff Services Coordinators, serving as national president and treasurer. Beth was a lifelong member of St. John's church, its Altar Society, the Senior Citizens Club (enjoying many day-trips with them to various places, especially the casinos). She was an avid sports fan, holding season tickets to KU basketball and football. Her love of traveling took her all around the world. Through her membership in the Croatian Fraternal Union, she kept abreast of all things Croatian in the United States by reading her Zajdnecar newspaper. In recent years, she enjoyed attending the monthly meeting of the Congressional Forum at the Jack Reardon Civic Center with her brother. Another pastime was Beth's love of reading business and financial magazines. It was no surprise when last year Beth became interested in Texas longhorn cattle. Preceding her in death were her parents; two sisters: Mary and Anna Bosilevac and brother: Mike Bosilevac. She is survived by her brother: Dr. Fred N. Bosilevac, retired ophthalmologist; two nephews: Fred N Bosilevac, Jr. (Sheryl) and Thomas J. Bosilevac (Trish); two nieces: Mary Jane Beeman and Laurie Lucas (Ron); three grand-nieces: Amy Curmi, Anne Bosilevac and Lindsey Livers; a grand-nephew: Fred N. Bosilevac III and a great-grand-niece: Elise Jane Livers. The family thanks the staffs of Villa St. Joseph (Overland Park) and Shawnee Mission Medical Center (ICU and Palliative Care Units).
