He is the son of Abraham Roose and Barbara Koffel.

He married Margaret Ann Alice Shock on 19 Jan 1868 in Marshall County, Indiana.

Their children are: Mary E., Charles E., Wesley A., Irena Belle, and Esther A.


Note: He most likely had no stone. St. Joseph County Genealogical Society's 1990 transcription does not show John Roose, which means if he had a marker, it hasn't been there since 1990. A volunteer checked the cemetery and the Roose plots (C.E. Roose, their son whose grave is marked) has several graves without markers near it. Section is "Potter Lots."
