GROVE, Okla. -- Sanford Downing died Thursday, December 1, 2005 at the Grand Lake Villa at the age of 75..

Sanford was born June 15, 1930 to Charles and Lillie (Lewis) Downing at Grove, Ok. He was a lifetime area resident and worked as a carpenter..

Survivors include his wife Nellie (Jackson) Downing of Grove. Three children; Allen Downing of Grove, Nancy Francis of Jay, and Jim Downing of Grove. One stepson: Ray Downing of Zena. Two brothers: John Downing of Jay and Leroy Downing of Disney. Two sisters: Bessie Norris and Mary Norris both of Boise, Idaho. 11 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren..

Services will be at 10:00am Saturday, December 3, 2005 at the Delaware Baptist Church in Grove with Rev. Larry Jackson officiating. Interment will follow at the Zena Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday at the Worley-Luginbuel Funeral Home in Grove.
