Esther was the daughter of James Holcomb and Olive Noble. Taken from the Independent Patriot Newspaper of Lamoni, Iowa December 16, 1886. FOWLER, Mrs. Lewis Fowler of Lamoni passed away last Saturday, and was interred in the Rose Hill Cemetery (Row 17, Plot 173, Grave 1) Mrs. Fowler's maiden name was Holcomb. She was born in North Granville, New York, September 17, 1830. Married in Granville, January 25, 1851 to Lewis Fowler. She was the mother of eleven children, eight of whom are living and all residents of this County. She had eleven grandchildren. She resided at Amboy, Illinois and vicinity for 15 years. Came to Davis City in 1875 and resided in this vicinity ever since. She united with the L.D.S. church while at Amboy, and remained in that faith until her death. She was noted for kindness and Christian care for the suffering and needy, having been known to arise at midnight to relieve the suffering and supply the wants of domestic animals. The bereaved husband and family have the sympathy of all.
