Tim E. Murphy, age 73, of Canton passed away Sunday, Jan. 15, 2012 following an extended illness. He was born May 16, 1938 and worked in the steel industry for many years. He was with Portec Forgings Inc. for over 20 years and retired from T&W Forge. His hobby and additional livelihood was working on lawn equipment repairs that earned him the name "Sanford" from all who knew him. Tim gave a Lasting Legacy with his Gift of Sight donation to Cleveland Eye Bank.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Mary Murphy; a brother, James and sisters, Eleanor and Sally. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years, Shirley A. Murphy; sons, Gary Osborn and Kim (Vivian Knoll) Osborn; daughters, Lori Hester and LeAnn Murphy; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; a sister, Loretta Chamberlain of New Boston, Ohio; a brother, Paul (Carrie Jean) Murphy or Florida and a host of friends.
Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Sunset Hills Burial Park.
