Stanley was born in Spurger, Texas, on January 7, 1940 to William Ard and Jennie (Freeman) Ard and lived most of his life in Fred. He was retired from Tyler County Precinct No. 4.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ard of Fred; sons William Buddy Ard and Pete Ard and wife Lori all of Fred; sisters Helen Hutto of Town Bluff, Thelma Spikes and Velma Wilson; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
