Marlus Halon Sparks, of Dyersburg, formerly of Memphis, died Wednesday, July 10, 2002 at Oakwood Community Living Center in Dyersburg. He was a Army veteran of World War II and a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church in Baldwyn, Miss. Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Family Funeral Care Stage Coach Chapel in Memphis. Burial will be in Memphis Memory Garden. The family will receive visitors at 3-5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The widower of Rebecca Sparks; survivors include five daughters, Pattie Crouch Mackus of Panama City Beach, Fla., Peggie Crouch Craig and Becky Sparks Toney, both of Memphis, Linda Crouch Clark of Bartlett, and Karen Crouch Lowery of Diamondhead, Miss.; and a sister, Vivalene Leksche of Dyersburg; a niece, Rita Cooper; two nephews, Danny Dew and Jimmy McConnell; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family request that any memorials be directed to Alzheimer's Association.
