Evelyn Beach, age 97, of Carrington, ND, died Friday, March 2, 2012, at Lutheran Home of the Good Shepherd in New Rockford, ND.
Evelyn Adeline Graham was born on October 30, 1914, the daughter of Levi and Isa (Harding) Graham near Bordulac, ND. Later the family moved to Juanita, ND. She grew up and attended school in Haven Country School and Grace City.
On May 18, 1935, Evelyn was united in marriage to Elmer G. Beach in Carrington. They farmed for many years in Foster County. They lived in Grace City and McHenry before moving to Carrington in 1947. Evelyn worked at Chocolate Shop Café, Beck's Fairway, and White Cleaners before retiring in 1980. Elmer Beach died on March 31, 1999.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Evelyn enjoyed gardening, making quilts, crocheting, and knitting. She loved spending time with her family and friends.
Evelyn leaves behind her daughter, Vaunda Lea (Beach) Schutt, Ada, MN; her son Gordon Beach, Carrington; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 8 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; 3 sisters, Nellie Graham Beach, Vera Graham Hedrick, and Shirley Graham Knox; 2 brothers, Lyndon and Norman Graham; her daughter-in-law, Gloria Beach; and her son-in-law, Gene Schutt.
