BABY IN FLAMES
-----------
Little Son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm F. Varvell Fatally Burned.
-----------
Dewey, the three year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Varvell of Urbana, was fatally burned yesterday evening about 4 o'clock.

The child was playing with a number of other children behind the coal house, when the mother was attracted by the screams of the child and when she reached the little one its clothing was almost burned from its body. She grabbed it in her arms and with the help of a man passing by the flames were smothered out, but not until it was badly burned. It lived until 1 o'clock this morning when it died after great suffering.

The remains will be brought here on the noon train tomorrow and the funeral will be held in the Prospect church (sic) at 1 o'clock conducted by Rev. Hobson, from near Homer, and the interment will be in the Sterns (sic) cemetery (sic).
