Larry Fowler was raised in Brook, Indiana, where he was graduated from Brook High School as Senior Class President. He received a BS in Agricultural Economics from Purdue University and a MBA in Business Administration from Utah State University.

Before becoming President of his own company in 1983, Tropical Enterprises & Brokerage, Inc, located in Clearwater, Florida, he was Provisions Manager at Swift & Company in Indiana and Utah, VP Operations and Sales for Marhoefer Packing Company in Muncie, Indiana, and a partner with B. DeYoung Brokerage in Clearwater.

Larry was a very active member of Sertoma International, serving as President of the Interbay Club, Lt. Governor of the Central Florida District, District Secretary-Treasurer of the Tampa Bay West District, and Secretary Emeritus of Sertoma. Additionally, he served as a Board member of Camp Endeavor, which serves the hearing impaired, a member of the Sertoma Foundation,, a Life Member of Sertoma International, and a member of the Sertoma Task Force for chartering the first European Sertoma Club in Aarau, Switzerland.

Larry was a member of Palma Ceia United Methodist Church in Tampa, Delta Chi Fraternity, and the President's Task Force. He served as a volunteer manager and coach at Plant High School in Tampa and the Tampa Bay Little League.
