During the summer of 1920 he must have gone to N.E. Ark and Dunklin Co. Mo. and made the acquaintance of Mary McCoy as letters indicate he is courting her in the fall of 1920. Feb. 1921: Childers married to Mary McCoy in Dunklin Co. Mo. April 1921: abandoned Mary. (her letters to Fayetteville Ark. are dated May 5, 1921). During the rest of 1921 he may have been traveling around as a guest preacher.
