F.L. JEWETT DIES, EX-AUTO OFFICIAL
Former Detroiter to Be Buried in Lyme, Conn.


Frederick L. Jewett, former vice-president of the Paige-Detroit Motor Corporation, and brother of Harry M. and Edward H. Jewett, died Friday night, at New London, Conn., it was learned here yesterday.
Born in Elmira, N.Y., in 1868, Jewett was educated at Notre Dame University. As a young man he went to Chicago, where he was connected with the Consumer’s Ice Company, which he left to assume the management of the Jewett-Bigelow and Brooks mines, in west Virginia. He came to Detroit 15 years ago, and became associated with the Paige-Detroit Motor Corporation, of which he was president until 1927.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Caroline Wood Jewett, two daughters, Gertrude and Caroline Lee, and one son, Charles. His mother, Mrs. Gertrude Jewett, also survives. Funeral services will be held in Lyme, Conn., the summer home of the family, Sunday, at 5 p.m.
