He served in the US Navy Submarine corps. One of his assignments was aboard the USS Francis Scott Key - SSBN675 on the Blue crew from 1988 to 1989. He also served aboard the USS John Adams. He retired from the Navy in 1999.

Timothy David Bollinger, age 54 of Willow Springs, Missouri, (formerly of Fredericktown) passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the Ozark Medical Center in West Plains, Missouri. He was born of February 25, 1957 in Fredericktown, the son of Don and Adelia (Lenhard) Bollinger.

Those surviving include: Sons, Adam and Matt Bollinger of Pensacola, Florida, and Luke Bollinger of Knoxville, Tennessee; father and stepmother, Don and Glenda Bollinger of Willow Springs; brothers, Steve Bollinger of DeSoto, Missouri, Scott Bollinger of Republic, Missouri, and Jeff Bollinger of Willow Springs; sister, Jane Julius of Republic and grandson, Cruz Bollinger of Pensacola.

Tim was a retired United States Navy officer serving his country for 22 years. Before his retirement, he was an officer recruiter in St. Louis and later went into the insurance business and became an agent. He enjoyed playing golf, pitching horseshoes, fishing and boating. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Willow Springs.

Visitation will be 5:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, August 12, 2011, at Wilson Funeral Home in Fredericktown, Missouri, and 1:00-2:00 p.m. on Saturday , August 13, 2011, at the First Baptist Church in Fredericktown. Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, August 13, 2011, at the church, with Pastor Tom Johnson officiating. Interment will be at the Marcus Memorial Cemetery in Fredericktown, with full military honors.
