BILOXI --- Louis C. Uchello, Jr., 70, died Thursday, October 10, 2002, in Ocean Springs, MS.

Mr. Uchello was born in Dallas, Texas and had been a resident of Biloxi for the past 50 years. He was a member of Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral. Mr. Uchello was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a graduate of Springhill College in Mobile, AL. He was the owner of the Sun Tan Motel in Biloxi since 1952 and a member of many organizations including the Mississippi Motel-Hotel Association, The Biloxi Chamber of Commerce and the Gulf Coast Carnival Association.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Johnnie Louis Uchello; and his parents, Louis C. and Helen St. Pe Uchello, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Crapo Uchello; a daughter, Laura Carmel Newman and her husband, Perry; two step-daughters, Deborah Batia and her husband, Gene and Pamela Bozeman and her husband, Mike; two sons, Louis C. Uchello, III and his wife, Tammy and Jeffrey Leon Uchello and his wife, Tammy; a step-son, Gregory Crapo, all of Biloxi; a sister, Jocelyn Turnbough of Long Beach, MS; two grandchildren, Christopher Neil Uchello and Olivia Grace Uchello; five step-grandchildren, Melissa Williams, Kempton Batia, Angela Bozeman, Bryan Bozeman and Joshua Bozeman; and one step-great-grandson, John Grayson Williams.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, October 14, 2002, at Nativity B.V.M. Catholic Cathedral in Biloxi where friends may call from 9 a.m. till service time. Burial will be in Biloxi City Cemetery.

The family prefers memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.

The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
