James G. Bradshaw was born in December 1859 in Lewis County, Kentucky. He was the son of Robert and Elizabeth Howard Bradshaw.
James married Lucy Frances Clark in Carter County, Kentucky, and they had two daughters, Ina and Beatrice.
James Bradshaw was a shoemaker by trade, as was his father. He practiced his trade in Carter County, Kentucky for many years. After the untimely death of his teenage daughter, Ina, James moved his family west. They lived in Oregon a while before finally settling in California. He continued his trade as a shoemaker throughout his life.
James died in California on January 22, 1920. His body was returned to Carter County, Kentucky for burial in the Clark Family Cemetery. His wife, Lucy Frances Clark Bradshaw, died in 1925, and her body was also returned to Carter County, Kentucky for burial. James G. Bradshaw and his wife Lucy, are buried side-by-side in the old Clark Family Cemetery.
